Life’s a Beach!

Spring Getaway Style

I haven’t made traveling a priority in my life. For the past few years, I traveled only to visit my parents in Virginia or attend a wedding. Planning trips gives me a lot of anxiety – where to look, what will be worthwhile, costs, taking time off, etc.

When I moved to California, some of that anxiety eased up. The desire to explore new places upstaged any apprehensiveness. Even though the South Bay isn’t that memorable, I can and have taken easy weekend trips to Big Sur, Napa, and San Francisco.

During this pseudo-sabbatical, I decided I would take advantage of my flexibility and go on a few spring vacations to Tulum and Maui. Each trip is very different in nature. Tulum will be a relaxing, beach trip with Laurie; and Maui will be about adventure and exploring.

During the spring and summer, I spend most of my weekends reading at the pool; so purchasing a few getaway style items for this trip will be long-term, quality investments. I wear sunscreen every day, but I noticed that I really need to up the protection with a hat.

Do you have any spring trips planned?
