Embracing the Business-Personal Brand Blend

Personal Branding with Madewell slides, panama hat, and jcrew swimsuit

If you follow me on Instagram, you know my redesign is full of lots of pattern mixing, particularly stripes and dots! My old branding incorporated florals. I wanted to mix it up this time around with more handdrawn patterns and textures. Throughout the process, I have tried to keep everything very neutral – black, white, and grey! I’m particularly fond of the different direction the brand assets went for print materials – especially my business cards and client gifts.

This redesign has focused on simplifying, which coincidently also is occurring in my life and personal style. I’m really trying to live the fewer, but better mantra. Narrowing down a personal color palette has helped a lot, and sticking with brands that have worked with me in the past, such as Shopbop, Everlane, and J.Crew.

For tops and bottoms, I don’t have that many options with my height, but for accessories, I can invest in different brands. I recently picked up this Clare V beach bag and Soludos slides for my spring vacations and summer.

There is a fine line between splitting personal and professional brands, but I have found myself more at peace when my business life aligns with my personal preferences, especially since lindsayhumes.com is evolving to be more of a personal brand.
