Greenery: Pantone Color of the Year 2017

A few weeks ago, Pantone announced 2017’s Color of the Year – Greenery. At first, I was like “eh”. This yellow-green shade is found all over nature. Yet, it doesn’t necessarily translate that well on the web.

I do appreciate Pantone’s decision and theory behind selecting this color for 2017. Leatrice Eisemen, Executive Director of the Panton Color Institue, said, “Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose”.

Applying Greenery

I decided to create this moodboard to pull on some of my favorite green hues. I tend to like a yellow-green that is very muted and light, but I could say that about nearly all colors. Honestly, this hue works paired with other colors, such as analogous shades of blue and teal or moody reds and berries.
